Anyone watching this? A full debate probably best saved for after tonight's closer, but it's fantastic stuff! Ben Whishaw is outstanding and should have awards thrown at him come the time. It's so full of twists and turns and sometimes veers towards melodrama, but saves itself. Last night's was a corker. Ben's mum's story about the kitten gave me chills....

It reminds me a little of Spiral, the French procedural drama that BBC4 showed a couple of years ago....

Just heard that the Prisoner is to being remade with James Caviezel as No 6 and Sir Ian McKellen as No 2! I wonder how they will present it for a modern audience! I liked the original series in the 60's with Patrick McGoohan.

Old TV Shows

Just bought some old TV shows on DVD. The first series of "Follyfoot", which I liked-also the complete "Owl Service" which was shown first in 1969 in B/W but now its just been released in colour with a booklet explaining the making of the programme and several extras! Hope I can make sense of it this time! Also some episodes of "Catweazle"! Heaven!!! Is anyone else old enough to remember any of these? Come on- own up!This is when TV wasn't special effects...

Doctor Who - The Stolen Earth

An amazing episode bringing all parts of the "Whoniverse" together and the return of an amazing villain. Seemed everyone had something to do except for poor Rose, who travelled across time and space only to be flummoxed by Donna's family's lack of a webcam. Grrrrr! Nice to see the redemption of Harriet Jones in this episode, too. Next week's ep, Journey's End, is going to be a tear-jerker for sure.

Doctor Who: Turn Left

I was nearly screaming my head off at the end of this episode. An incredible episode, so glad to see Rose back and how she's evolved into whatever she's become. The preview for next week where all the shows collide -- Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures -- had me jumping off the sofa. Catherine Tate...brilliant beyond imagination. Russell T. Davies is going out with a bang. Or should I say...bad wolf. Don't watch the clip below if you don't want the spoiler.

Excellent piece of drama and very different for Doctor Who, think it will divide fans opinions, what do you think?
For all you classic series fans: I was at a "Doctor Who" convention yesterday and made Louise Jameson (Leela) cry when I told her how I entered a competiotin to meet her when I was 11 and didn't win, so here I was 31 years later, meeting her for the first time for the nerdy little boy I was! She is so lovely and i want to marry her and have
her children..

After a sow first few episodes (expected tbh) it really took off and the first season finale was great. looking forward to catching up with seasons 2-5 asap. Any other fans of The Wire out there?

A brilliant episode and continuation of last week's Silence in the Library. Although we don't really find out who River Song is, I hope we see her again at some point. Alex Kingston was fabulous. Catherine Tate doing more excellent dramatic work. Hats off to Moffat for another great two-parter.

I was waiting for a thread to start then thought hey shall I start it! So here we are again it is summer and another of the big momma of reality tv franchises is back. The usual rumours who is going in: e.g. registered blind, Girls Aloud reject etc. All will be revealed tonight. I lost interest last series even though it seemed they tried to get a broader mix of people in terms of age group. But I will give it ago and see what is in store. Whatever else happens it will be a great journey,...

Am I the only one watching this? I enjoyed the first episode about the rations of WW2, but nearly pissed myself during last week's episode went they went Edwardian and stuck to the most digusting Edwardian diet. I didn't stop laughing for the whole hour.. well, maybe briefly when she sucked out the fish eye. I really like Giles' and Sue's sense of humour. This week is Victorian.

One of the best episodes of Doctor Who of the new series. Loved it. The mixing of the mystery and sci-fi genres with Agatha Christie and the Doctor was a brilliant idea. And Catherine Tate...one of the best companions ever. This episode proves it. I think I'll be more upset when she leaves than when Rose was trapped in the parallel world.

Another corker of an episode.. I wonder if Jenny may save the day later in the series (when everyone seems to be coming back into the series) or will she have her own spin off series too??? (I hope not, as much as I love "Doctor Who" and all the related shows, 2 is enough..).
I keep thinking of that poor Hath (fish person thingy) drowning after saving Martha.

Anyone see this? I thought Brian Blessed's guest presenting was hilarious! Second only to Bruce Forsyth's, and beating some sublime moments with BoJo and Anne Widdecombe that have been previous highlights for me. He hammed his way through, leaving regular captains Ian and Paul at once bemused and incredulous but it made me laugh out loud so many times. The extended version tonight was just genius. I hope they bring him back again.
