Highly unlikely to ever be covered by Kate but wouldn't it be great?

I was just thinking Kate would do a fantastic job with Frank Zappa's The Dangerous Kitchen. Shorten it down a bit of course, and then her voice sensually singing about milk gone off - the result would be even more surreal than Franks version...

Wondering if anyone else is thinking these thoughts about other weird or unlikely songs. If so,...

I was at the O2 Arena yesterday for the Macca concert so took the opportunity to visit the rather splended British Music Experience exhibition where to my delight I saw Kate's red shoes (as used on the album cover and in the title song video according the card with the shoes) which she had donated for showing. Being a Macca ticket holder I got in free saving me £15 i believe but its well worth a visit even at that price for anyone interested in British music over the last fifty years....

Running Up That Hill used for new vampire film "Daybreakers"

Today, I caught the television trailer for the new vampire film starring Ethan Hawke and Willem Defoe - with features Placebo's version of Running Up That Hill. It was once again very cool to hear one of Kate's compositions being used and even though it's Placebo's version, I was happy to think about a few extra royalties cheques floating her way!

Here is the trailer - RUTH starts about 1:06 into it. Unfortunately, I seem to lack sufficient imagination to understand...

Home for Christmas

Hi guys !

A few weeks ago, someone on this board was kind enough to send me a file of "Home for Christmas" from Kate, which I had actually never been able to hear. Unfortunately, my crummy computer refuses to open the file because it's not an mp3 file (it's an m4a file, apparently). I've tried every trick in the book - it just won't work. (I know - I'm getting a new computer in 2010).

A question about the This Woman's Work LP Boxset

I've been wanting the LP release of the This Woman's Work boxset for some time and found a copy on Ebay. One of the images shows The Sensual World album and it has a sticker on it. Does anyone here have the LP release of the boxset, if so were there any stickers on any of the albums?

I've just read today an article of Beck Siàn,Kate's cousin in the summer 2007 homeground.In it,she was saying that she had a dimple on the top of her cheek,like Kate.Her grandma told her once that came from her irish family,the Dalys of Waterford.
So Kate's dimple isn't english but irish.
It is cute anyway,isn't it ?

WH Guitar solos

I've been learning to play the guitar for a few months now and it's hard going. My fingers need stretching, I need to speed up a million per cent and I need to practice loads (good job I've got time over Xmas!)

My ambition is to be able to play the guitar solo from Wuthering Heights (eventually), so in the course of general net browsing, I stumbled upon these Youtube solos. I particularly love the bass from WH, so I was pleased to see someone had had a crack at it....

I just found out from the always-accurate Wikipedia that Kate's "The Man With The Child In His Eyes" was the 55th video ever played on MTV, right between "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" by April Wine (whoever they are) and "Ashes to Ashes" by David Bowie (whoever he is).
