Can I ask a nerdy and rather dull question? Was interested to know how many (regular-ish) homeground subscribers there are?
(I'm subscriber 482 and started subscribing 19 years ago!)

Because of the huge amount of work still on going on the book, looking like the final "regular" ( ) HomeGround is going back to next year. We'll keep everyone informed.

As Pete says, with the coming of the Internet it was inevitable. Also, as he says, the long gaps between albums was another factor.

What about having the mag only in PDF form? That would be cheap and easy, and people could print it out.

I must add my thanks to the 'list', although having bought HG once, I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish I had bought them all (however this would have been quite impossible as I was born a considerable amount of years after the first edition)

Thanks for everything you have done with HG. I recall flicking through many a copy in HMV Megastore in London back in the day and seeing the news "Kate is back in the studio, new album expected early 1988". I am just amazed that you have managed to keep going as long as you have. Maybe the odd HG issue could emerge when there is something to focus on.

In the meantime best of luck with the book - so looking forward to this - and keep up the belly dancing...

I can totally understand Peter. I have always been impressed with how long HG has kept going, especially in view of gaps between albums and the fact this is entirely done in your and other contributors spare time. Most commerical magazines don't last that time! It sounds like HG will live on in maybe in different ways. Pkus, there is no reason to stop any of us setting up a fanzine. We have this ere forum so all is not lost and editions that coincide with alabum release will be much...

I have been reading Homeground since 1990. Thanks for your hard work over the years - I think you deserve a well earned break!
It's a chance to do other things/explore different interests, and things have moved on with regards communication, although I still think receiving a printed copy of Homeground is rather special. Thanks again x

I was spending a Saturday afternoon in the Picton library in Liverpool, in the late 1980's and I spotted on the shelf the book by Kevin Cann and Sean Mayes, browsing through it I spotted there was a fanzine called "Homeground", I couldn't believe it! A fanzine totally dedicated to Kate Bush! I rushed home and signed up immediately and as they say, the rest is history.

Very appropriate, Peter. And it's one of those situations for me too because if I hadn't have happened to pop into the Virgin Megastore that particular day, and casually peer at the magazine stands, and then contact HG to say how excited I was to see the mag, and then get invited by Mandy to come and meet you all....well, my life would probably have gone down a whole different and altogether less interesting route. And, certainly, I would not have had the wonderful friends I have...
