I wonder if it's just based on the hearsay and speculation of a collaboration or if they have anything more official? The movie is out in December - if they've managed to keep her participation silent this long in the publicity heavy climate I'll be amazed! Great news if it's true though, and just one more reason to see this promising adaptation (and potential for at leat two more tracks as the rest of the trilogy hits the screens!). Of course if it's true you can probably knock back any next album schedule by at least a couple of years... Monty x It is this that brings us together

The director Chris Weitz was recently interviewed in the LA Times "calling from the famed Abbey Road recording studio in London where he was completing the film's music". But that doesn´t mean Kate was anywhere near the place, unfortunately.

I try to be on my way and this happens! But, not only is there no mention of Kate on the official film web site, there's no mention of her in the full production notes available on the New Line Cinema site. Golden Compass production notes page with link to full production notes There are three paragraphs on the man in charge of the music, Alexandre Desplat, and it strains credulity that this close to the release of the film an involvement by Kate Bush is entirely absent from the publicity. Given "The Kate Bush Tribute Page" posts here I think a few words from him or her might be a nice gesture. A valueless collection of hopes and past desires... 6,054+

I really can't say whether this could be true, but I do know that Annie Lennox recorded her 'Into The West' for Return Of The King towards the very end of production on that film, the music being the last thing usually 'in the can' for these epic blockbusters. Philip Pullman was round in Kate's house earlier this year as Del told us. Hmmm indeed, who knows? Whatever happens the truth of these stories will surely be known very soon! The myspace page has been a quality resource up till now, and a very respectful one - so there's that too. My guess is that Kate's contribution to a project like this would need her full approval before it was definitely part of the finished film. So IF this is true I can totally understand why there's been no mention of it before. And IF it's true the filmakers must be doing the happiest of happy dances at such a jackpot! I thought it would feature in this movie if it were true. So this could just be fake information, anyone can come up with it. I'm thinking it's fake until a proof from an official source comes, the cynical bastard that I am. And let's not forget that Alexandre Desplat has made the score for this film. That's totally different than singular songs, which usually feature in movies. So it doesn't rule out the possibility of a Kate song in the end credits or so.
