There apparently is Pi music, music based on the number Pi:
www.sciencenews.org/articles/20030104/mathtrek.asp
or search for pi music. Interesting!

incidentally - For anyone trying to write the letter PI on the forum, the html tag for it is:
π
or you could also use:
π
- sadly I don't think my standard membership allows me to put HTML tags in my posts Image

Let me try (I doubt if this will work, but you never know)
π

OK, let's try cutting and pasting
?
Nope.

Finally, let's try this: Image - can I put that on one line?
OK, trying the typeface-as-symbol trick:

When you add the letter Pi by copy/paste (from e.g. MS Word), you get:
¡Ç
This means, it IS possible to insert special characters, but it's not clear how to reach a specific one. Best wishes

Addendum: I used to have a web page about pi (I haven't had it for about five years) - it's no longer around, but here's a description of it.=======

This will probably work for most:
P
Set typeface to "custom" and use the Symbol font, which is available on most computers, then use P as the letter. Best wishes

Hey Wieland, that's pretty cool! I was thinking it would probably require the browser to have a certain type of encoding set (Greek being the obvious choice).
Can the lower-case Pi be done that way?

Here is the code for everyone:
font face=Symbol size=7]p[/font]
just add another square bracket before the word font. Best wishes

You should be aware that doesn't render properly for everybody. For instance, I see nothing but the Latin letter 'p' instead of the Greek one.II
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

I'm probably getting this thread off on a wild tangent again, but FWIW I'm using Western European encoding (in Internet Explorer), but the font is set to Lucida Sans Unicode. I'm actually a bit confused about what the Encoding selection does, especially when you're dealing with Unicode, which supposedly has characters for just about any alphabet on the planet, along with a bunch of symbols, dingbats, and thingamajigs for various purposes. Anyway, I get the lowercase Pi just fine with that encoding.
Anyway, like many of you I'm sure, I'm wondering why Kate would give such a "cerebral" title to a song. It reminds me more of someone like Laurie Anderson ("LET X=X").

Huh. On my PC, it looks like pi. On my Mac, it's the letter p.
I'm a huge fan of Kate, and I'm a fan of the number pi, so this has the potential of being the BEST. KATE. SONG. EVAR!
