We've had various body parts like eyes, ears, bums etc so I thought next we needed something a little more important. You can tell a lot about someone by
their shoes! So to get the ball rolling here are the ones that I wear most often excluding the ones I wear to work!

I'll try to take a better photo that last one is a tad dark.

Pretty limited choice here as I don't wear leather. Outside work, usually in a pair of Merrells:

^^^ Just as a query - has anyone analysed the enironmental impact of Vegetarian shoes ? Is their production more enviromentally damaging than production of
leather shoes ? Ditto for disposal / destruction ? Just interested ...
He had no grand scheme, no strategy, no agreement with higher authorities, nothing beyond a vague longing for glory and a generalized wish for revenge. |

Not seen any study, but the leather industry uses some pretty nasty chemicals I think. Assume you are talking about the man made material shoes, rather than
cotton based trainers or baseball boots

Not something I've looked into but I'm under the impression that most synthetic materials have some petrochemical based ingredients. That isn't
limited to shoes btw as I look around the room and am hard pressed to see much which doesn't!!

I wear a lot of Converse though, and have a great website that you can search by size and have 'em delivered by the next day which is such a boon to me after spending so much time traipsing round shoe shops to little avail. Bloody hell. I don;t know. I'm away for a few months and what do I find when I come back? Mr Montcrieff hooking up with undesirables on Facebook and bragging about his vital statistics on here. Time for a bit of discipline in this place... |

montichka wrote:Thanks doll Now, as for the vegetarian leather business, the chemicals used to create synthetic leathers are pretty awful. Plastic is *not* the way forward for shoes. At least not until we can synthesize plastics using water based chemicals that have the durability and properties of natural leather. However, Mike, it is nice to see a non-leather wearing vege. People that sit there saying how cruel it is to eat meat, while paying for their over-priced goats cheese salad using the AMEX withdrawn from a LV handbag ....
