The topic is about coincidences and whether there may add up too many of them in your life, to be explained away by pure randomness with an added pinch of chaos.
One theory that could explain the piling up of negative coincidences is that past traumatic experiences somehow increase the probability of similar events to happen again.
But what about positive coincidences?
Let's see what a coincidence is exactly (wikipedia):
Coincidence is the noteworthy alignment of two or more events or circumstances without obvious causal connection. The word is derived from the Latin co- ("in", "with", "together") and incidere ("to fall on"); in the more literal translation coincidence can be used to describe the order of events as observed but without explanation of causal connection; the recorded order of facts.
A coincidence does not prove a relationship, but related events may be expected to have a higher index of coincidence. Probability is the basic tool, or method, to rationally evaluate coincidences. In the field of mathematics, the index of coincidence can be used to analyze whether two events are related. From a statistical perspective, coincidences are inevitable and often less remarkable than they may appear intuitively. As an example, the probability of two individuals sharing a birthday already exceeds 50% with a group of only 23 (see the Birthday problem).
---and happy Easter to everyone :-)
