My name is Caleb and I am a 20-year-old film student from Toronto, Ontario. I first discovered Kate Bush in the early 2000s while watching Much More Retro and saw the white dress video of Wuthering Heights. I couldn't believe what I was seeing - I felt weirdly amused, intrigued and haunted all at once. Over the next couple years, I purchased her entire discography and grew to love every single track. I can't think of a single Kate Bush track that I have turned my back on!
Now, in 2011, I find it incredibly fascinating that my biggest film inspiration has become a musician. The lyrical, visual sensibilities Kate brings to her art have made me realize how limitless the imagination can be.
It's impossible to pinpoint a favourite song, but I must say A Coral Room epitomizes everything I love about her approach to music, and it never fails to move me, to send images racing through my head as Kate's reflections on the past propel my own.
Some of you may know me from the FishPeople group on Facebook. For those of you who don't, I'm excited to finally be apart of this forum, which I have browsed from afar for years! I look forward to future KB discussions, especially as 50WFS approaches.
